Domain Name Transfer

I decided to transfer some domains today, I signed up with aplus.net because they had a cheap price to register domain names.

As soon as I started the process I knew I was in for trouble.  Their registration system is the worst I have seen in my life.  I would pay double at any other domain registrar before I would ever use them again.

Then once I have the process complete and I enter all my credit card information I get a goofy screen that says ok, we have your information – or something equally dumb.

I write them and ask if I my transaction went through and how much I was billed, I still can’t believe that they refuse to tell you how much they are charging you.

After I send them several emails they finally decided to answer and send back some cryptic message that says something like – yes I can check my bill.

I have no idea what this means, anyway I have to wait for my credit card statement to see what they charged me.

www.cheap-domainregistrations.com has a much better process; the 2nd screen at the bottom asks you if you would like a fast checkout. Click this radio button and it will take to you straight to the check out screen. I like that.

They advertise a price of $7.75 then they charge you $7.85 and add on .25 for something. But I guess it hard to get too upset over a dime. For $8.10 it’s not a bad deal but I just don’t like the idea of them advertising one price and then charging you something else.

After I finish paying I decide to log into my account and I hunt around and find out that process does not begin until I accept the transfer and enter the code from an email I am suppose to get.  It would be nice to know about this before.
